On January 16th, CBS TV 60 Minutes did an investigative report on how MTBE is polluting ground water all over the country.  Methyl teriary butyl ether is a federally mandated gas additive that’s highly soluble in water.  Since 60 Minutes aired it’s report on MTBE, the “feds” banned it’s use as a gasoline additive until an alternative is found.
